Dulcinea is a privately owned charter boat, so our private charters are as custom and unique as our guests. We go wherever we want, whenever we want, for however long we want! You can go swimming off of the boat, do beach excursions, or sail to and from an overnight destination nearby – the adventure is yours to design.

Designing Your Unique Adventure
Sails of 3 hours or longer provide the opportunity to sail for a time and if you like, anchor and enjoy a swim along the way. Many of our guests love destination sails, where we begin in one harbor and end in another, enjoying the views of the coast along the way.
During the many years we have been taking people sailing, we have noticed just how much people enjoy these one way excursions. There is less tacking back and forth and the longer reaches can allow for a more relaxing and comfortable ride, as well as offering the opportunity to see twice as much of the coastal scenery during the same amount of sailing time, giving our guests an enhanced feel for the topography of the island. It can be quite novel to step off of your private yacht just in time for your lunch or dinner reservation in another town.
One of our most popular sails is between Vineyard Haven and Edgartown. The sail is a minimum of 3 hours and we suggest adding extra time for swimming and exploring the Cape Poge Bay & Wildlife Refuge on Chappaquiddick. This area is only accessible by boat or a very long drive with a four wheel vehicle and a special permit and is a beautiful and secluded spot for your group to enjoy.
Traveling between Vineyard Haven and Menemsha is also a perennial favorite. This sail is a minimum of 5 hours and our guests almost always add a stop at Tarpaulin Cove in the Elizabeth Islands for a visit to the private island of Naushon, where you may even see cows wandering on the beach or near the small lighthouse. This excursion can easily become a whole day of sailing, swimming and adventuring and many people have shared that this experience is a highlight of their Vineyard holiday. We are happy to discuss sailing to other destinations on the Cape or Islands. Sometimes we will even take the place of the ferry ride and sail people to or from Woods Hole, as an extra special way to begin or end your vacation.
To return to your lodgings, there are many options - leave a car ahead of time in the destination harbor, use the excellent public bus system, or hire a taxi, uber or Lyft.
